“If I'm an advocate for anything, it's to move. As far as you can, as much as you can.
Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else's shoes or at least eat their food, it's a plus for everybody.
Open your mind, get up off the couch, move…”
— Anthony Bourdain
Bow down, girls. It’s time to allow the Mother of the Sword to enter your
…heart. (with consent ofc!)
Welcome back to Mother of the Sword - cutting through illusions with love. Now we have a podcast. Hurrah! We will be putting out shorter (and some longer,) episodes however and whenever we like. They are free. A gift for you. We hope you enjoy and share them if they are useful.
In our body of movement and creative ritual performance work, Body Temple Dance, the "Mother of the Sword" connects us compassionate strength, transformative truth, and deep understanding in the realms of somatic education, embodiment work, adult sex education, and celebrates, the messy art of loving. We creates spaces where individuals can explore, learn, and grow with a blend of nurturing support, clarity, and emotional depth.
We began this podcast so you can also just listen to our love letters and insights, if you are ready to receive that much love! In it, we explore somatics, ancestral healing and sacred sexuality through a non-binary, gender-expansive lens. Enjoy conversations and embodied practices for collective liberation.
LISTEN TO OUR NEW PODCAST ABOVE. We get all into communicating with the dead, how pleasure needs safety within, boundaries happen inside (and out), transformation and what the sword represents for us sensitive folks. This conversation with Jeff Hinshaw - astrologer and tarot extraordinaire.
Jeff has been my podcast doula before, and bc of my beautiful ADHD, it really is nearly impossible to do anything without help. I am so grateful I am surrounded by good people in my life that can help me and hold me and I keep following the ways Goddess guides me to create.
Part of why I lead and attend so many retreats and continue my education in spaces that can hold me, is that as much as I hat being told what to do…I LOVE a container. Being contained (except for when I don’t want to be ;)bratty sub at her finest over here.) But seriously, without being a part of communities over these past 17 years I would probably be dead with the intensity of feeling, and capacity for light and dark, I carry.
In our school Body Temple, we explore the dual nature of the feminine path. We hold space for and train others how to hold a nurturing and supportive aspect of helping individuals connect with their bodies, emotions, and experiences (Mother), while also embodying the transformative power of truth, boundaries, and self-discovery (Sword).
Jeff, from Cosmic Cousins informed me Anthony Bourdain. was a Cancer w Capricorn moon, which is this moment for us astrologically speaking. And Cancer is often represented with a chariot. Cancer is also connected to “building a lighted house and dwelling there.” Check out more astro and tarot magic, and Jeff’s Journey tot he High Priestess offering here.
We move physically yes, which is often an intense thing for us undomesticated artist healers. But we learn we also move energy through emotion and imagination.
We are here to reclaim our ability to dream and image, as much s we are to dance with our ancestors and alchemize pain, rage and grief into fertile sol for our creative gifts and service to humanity and this beloved Earth.
We are in flow and we are also getting stuck,
all.
the.
time.
If anyone knows what it's like to feel stuck and embody the maiden-to-mother, mother-to-crone, mother-to-maiden - unhealed and healed masculine - mystic and messy human - the cyclical dance of embodied love and spirituality...it me.
The Mother of the Sword and this space embodies compassionate strength, transformative truth, and deep understanding in the realms of somatic education, embodiment work, adult sex education, and the messy art, of loving. All things intimacy and the dismantling of patriarchy. Inside and out.
Doing the heart work for the sake of real liberation.
This is a space where individuals can explore, learn, and grow with a blend of nurturing support, clarity, and emotional depth TOGETHER. (Join our free three-day Body Temple Dance 'Ancestral Bones' series online from June 26-28th here!)
We know we can't talk our way into the body. We also know we have been trained to fear our power. Trauma robs us of choice and the capacity to create. This is our reclamation of real love (as opposed to the conditioned crap we were all born into.)
Body Temple is where you can bring all your co-depenencies, ways of being that your body has formed from an unhealed nervous system and all your bullshit, and make art out of it. Your vulnerability is your power. We always say the biggest vibration is truth-telling, and the most potent plant medicine is the vulnerability of the human heart. We also explore the psychic and psychedelic nature of the body through Tantra, somatics and becoming your own sexual healer. Letting nature be your numero uno lover and guide.
Your truth-telling is your worth. Your ability to take risks in love is what heals and changes this world. You are brave and courageous and more than enough, as you are.
Neurodivergence is welcomed and worked with gently here. Who has time to make sense in the ways people invested in systems we are dismantling understand anyway? The path of the feminine is the path of relatedness and is non linear. This we know.
We have real initiations happening and we also have a ton of fun. We’ll be Body Temple Dance Ritual-ing for grief irl in New York next week and our Beloved Harshada Wagner has a Satsang next Wednesday if you’re in NYC as well and we will be guiding Body Temple Dance in Gowanus Thursday. Email me for details. Limited space!
We are here for it all.
Loud, messy, introverted, awkward, Zaddy, femme, boundaries, boundless, money, sex, death, sluts of the paradox…and for real.
You’re welcome.
